Escape the Cape Triathlon: Here's what you need to know

The Cape May campus of the Cape May–Lewes Ferry will host the Escape The Cape triathlon on Saturday, June 1st, and Sunday, June 2nd. While we have proudly hosted the Escape the Cape triathlon for over a decade, we want to inform our passengers about the logistical challenges related to the event that may impact those traveling on the following dates.

What can you expect at The Cape May Terminal:

  • Customers with morning departures on Sunday, June 2nd should allow additional time to get to the ferry as traffic will be redirected to avoid the racecourse.
  • A section of the terminal parking lot located next to the terminal will be closed as of Tuesday, 5/28.
  • Terminal Parking will be limited to Ferry customers only on Saturday and Sunday, so be prepared to show your booking to our parking management team.
  • All cars and bags will be searched prior to entering the terminal or administration areas.
  • There will be a high volume of spectators and participants at the Cape May terminal and surrounding area all day Saturday and Sunday morning.
  • Customers crossing at 8:45 a.m. from Lewes on Sunday, June 2nd should anticipate a delay in exiting the Cape May grounds as their arrival will occur at the height of the race.
